It's a little difficult to follow the partial dcdiag errors and while some

Is the computername of the old DC listed in DNS or WINS(if used)? Also check
AD sites and services that the name is removed under your sites, this is
ont automatically done during the dem ...

I noticed in the sys log on a DC a DCOM error (event id 10009) where it was
referencing a decommisioned domain controller. The decommissioned DC was
performed using dcpromo without error. ...

Maybe some where in the registry of the server, search fo rthe name and if
there is a key with the name post it here first. Mayeb someone knows about
if the key is safe to delete.

Did the creator of the other thread uninstall Exchange 2007, reinstalled
Exchange 2003, uninstalled Exchange 2003 and then finally installed Exchange
2007 again?

I am afraid I don't have the option ...

I searched for the name in the registry of both the DC where I see this event
and on my Exchange 2007 server. But it wont show up anywhere.

This one is driving me crazy :)

Sorry to jump in here at this time but I have seen this error before in another newsgroup. If my recollection holds then it was an issue with the Exchange server where the OP installed Exchange ...
