I wonder if anyone can help with a problem that has me tearing my hair out.

We have a set of 10 bladeservers in a blade severcentre. Slots 1 & 2 and 13
& 14 are empty, and the servers are in slots 3-12.

All 10 were originally built identically. The 2nd of the 10 had to be
rebuilt due to registry problems, so might have a few bits slightly different.

Of the 10 servers, numbers 3-10 are working perfectly. Servers 1-2 however
are running like absoulute pigs. 5-10 minutes to carry out most tasks. These
servers were fine a couple of weeks ago, and nothing has been done to them,
as far as we can tell, which hasn't been done to the 8 that are working fine.
As far as we can tell the problems have been occuring since Tuesday this week
(03/02/09).

There appears to be an issue related to the Explorer service. If this is
disabled tasks can be carried out.

The application event log has an entry as below which seems to point to slow
performance, but I can't find anything that tells me what could be causing
this, or more to the point how to resolve it.

Hello Roger,

Chekc that all NIC drivers are up to date. Do you use fixed NIC settings,
speed and full duplex, or auto?

1090 maybe applies also to network problems, because policies are not applied
correct.

I'd check to make sure the SATA drivers are the same as on the other
machines. I have a HP ProLiant with a nVidia SATA controller, which runs
like treacle with the standard MS drivers.
