Hello Thomas,

See also here:
http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1053&eventno=1584&source=Userenv&phase=1

Also make sure that no firewall is blocking some traffic. Check your DNS
setup, that no external DNS servers, like your ISP's, are configured on the
NIC's in the network.

Best regards

Dave

Thanks

I found some minor issues

One thing I found is ports 1094 1025 1029 6004 are not listening. The
problem is I have no firewall running on the Windows 2003 R2 Standard DC
server

Not sure how ports can be blocked with no firewall running.

This all started after I was trying to get my Windows Firewall working on
the server. I added entries in the GRoup Policy I have now removed all those
entries.

Restarted the server and I am waiting to see

But I am not suer about those ports not listening

Any othere thoughts or ideas

Thanks

Hello Thomas,

Did you set the policy to Not configured now or did you really revert it
with switching from enabled to disabled, for example? Just setting to not
configured will not revert a policy.

Meinolf

Thanks I checked it out but I have Windows XP PRO Service Pack 3 installed
and that hotfix is already applied

Any other ideas or suggestions

Also I ran netdiag, ntdsutil, gpotool, dcdiag portqry on my server (Windows
2003 R2 Standard DC Server)
and found no errors or problems so my DNS is good.

Remember the Firewall issue you was helping me with?

I used the KB555381 article you suggested but after I applied those setting
thats when all this started happening.

Is there any way to setup windows firewall to open all ports and then start
to remove some at a time to see what is stopping my workstations from
accessing the web site on the server.

Currently the firewall program is not running on the server.

Is there another third party product that you would recommend for me to use.
I have no virus protection either. If I get a third party product then it
might work.
I use Windows Live One Care on my workstations and have no problem with that
Firewall program. But Windows Live One Care does not run on Windows 2003
server.

Any ideas or suggestions

Thanks for your help

Tom
